HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Ahmad Woods finished with two hits, including a triple, three RBI and scored a run, while three other players had two hits apiece Friday, but Oakwood University came up short in a 16-6 loss to Southern University of New Orleans in a HBCU Athletic Conference game at John Hunt Park. The Ambassadors trailed 10-1 through the middle of the second inning, but pushed four runs across in the bottom of the inning to pull within 10-5. Unfortunately, the Knights scored three more runs in the top of the third to go up 13-5 and Oakwood managed just one run the rest of the way. The loss dropped the Ambassadors to 0-16 overall and 0-9 in HBCUAC play. Jeremy Matos went 2-for-3, including a double and two RBI. Jayden Rolling and Derrick Sanders went 2-for-4 and scored a run each. Jordan Jennings, Joshua Mack, Tedrus Hamilton, Jorge Hernandez and Kyler Bradley had one hit each. Anthony Brent Jr. (0-1) took the loss, allowing 10 runs, five earned, on two hits in 1.1 innings. He walked two and struck out two.
