It was announced earlier today that Jenalyse Alarcon has been named to the D2CCA All-East Region First Team for Women's Basketball. This comes on the heels of a berth in the ECC Championship for the Dolphins and Alarcon being named East Coast Conference Player of the Year last week. She became the first Dolphin to win the award for Women's Basketball and helped lead the Dolphins to their first-ever berth in a conference championship at the Division II level. The central figure in the recent success of the Women's Basketball program on the court, Alarcon has helped lead the Dolphins to three straight appearances in the postseason. This year, Alarcon and the Dolphins earned a berth in the ECC Championship for the first time in program history. In the ECC Championship Semifinal, she scored 23 points in a thrilling Dolphins win. She was later named to the ECC All-Tournament Team adding yet another accolade to her extensive resume. This season alone, Alarcon was a four-time ECC Defensive Player of the Week and four-time ECC Player of the Week. The senior was later named ECC Player of the Year which came with a spot on the All-Conference First Team. In addition to all of her individual recognition, the Dolphins posted their best season in the Division II history of the program. Alarcon scored 23 points in a thrilling Dolphins win over Mercy during the the ECC Championship Semifinal Earning a spot on the All-East Region Team will see Alarcon included in the voting for a spot on the D2CCA All-America Roster.
