NEW ORLEANS – Oakwood University outside hitter Kamaria Murray was named the HBCU Athletic Conference's Attacker of the Week, league officials announced Monday afternoon. A 5-foot-7 sophomore from Murfreesboro, Tenn., Murray recorded 34 kills, nine digs, six service aces, four assists and two blocks in two matches against NCAA Division II programs last week. Murray's 18 kills, four aces, four assists and two blocks, helped the Ambassadors outlast LeMoyne-Owen College in five sets. She followed that effort with 16 kills, nine digs and two aces in a 3-1 loss to Miles College. Murray and Oakwood will be back in action Thursday night when Fisk University invades Ashby Auditorium in an important HBCUAC matchup. First serve is set for 6.
