KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics announced today the 2024-2025 NAIA Women's Basketball All-America teams and Oakwood University freshman sensation Saniya Keys was named to the third team. The honor caps arguably the greatest freshman campaign of any player in the history of Oakwood University for Keys, a 6-0 center/forward from Cottondale. "Saniya is the heart and soul of our team," Oakwood women's basketball coach Ronnie Abrams said. "She did everything we asked her to do and the awards she has received are well-deserved. The sky is the limit for her." Keys led the HBCU Athletic Conference in scoring, averaging 19.2 points per game, and finished second in rebounding at 11 per game. She also shot 54.3 percent from the field and had 28 steals and 22 blocks. She was named HBCUAC Player of the Year, First-Team All-HBCUAC, All-HBCUAC Defensive Team and HBCUAC Freshman of the Year after the leading the Ambassadors to a 10-15 record and a berth in the HBCUAC Championship. Keys was the only women's basketball player from the HBCUAC to be named to the All-America team.
