TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Oakwood University's Saniya Keys was the big winner Wednesday as the HBCU Athletic Conference held its annual awards banquet. Keys was named the HBCUAC Player of the Year, All-HBCUAC First-Team, All-HBCUAC Defensive Team and the HBCUAC Freshman of the Year. "Saniya is the heart and soul of our team," Oakwood women's basketball coach Ronnie Abrams said. "She has done everything we've asked her to do and the awards she received are well-deserved." Keys led the league in scoring (19.2) and finished second in rebounding (11.0). She is shooting 54.3 percent from the field and on the defensive end has 28 steals and 22 blocks.
