NEW ORLEANS – Oakwood University forward/center Saniya Keys was named the HBCU Athletic Conference Freshman of the Week, league officials announced Monday. Keys was honored for her performance from February 17-23. A native of Cottonwood, Keys garnered her 18th weekly honor after scoring 20 points and grabbing seven rebounds to lead Oakwood to a 64-55 road victory over Talladega College in the regular season finale a week ago. She was 9-of-16 from the field and had one assist and one steal in 22 minutes. Keys finished the regular season as the HBCUAC leader in scoring at 19.2 points per game and second in rebounding at 11 per game.
