OAKWOOD'S FOUR-GAME WINNING STREAK COMES AN END IN LOSS AT PHILANDER SMITH

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Oakwood University had its four-game winning streak snapped Thursday night as Philander Smith College emerged with a 71-63 victory in a non-conference women's basketball game inside Mims Gym.   The Ambassadors fell to 5-5 with the loss. The Panthers improved to 8-4 with their fourth straight victory.   Kamaria Murray led Oakwood with 16 points and five rebounds. Trenisha Adams had 12 points, four rebounds and five steals, while Saniya Keys finished with 10 points and eight rebounds.   The Ambassadors shot just 29.2 percent (19-of-65) from the field, including 23.3 percent (7-of-30) from 3-point range, and 72 percent (18-of-25) from the free throw line.   Ashlyn Kimble led Philander Smith with 14 points, while Isis Isom and Miracle Thomas finished with 12 points each.   The Panthers shot 37.5 percent (24-of-64) from the field, including 27.3 percent (6-of-22) from beyond the arc, and 77.3 percent (17-of-22) from the charity stripe.   Oakwood will host Fisk University Saturday night at 6 in an HBCU Athletic Conference game.   Follow the Ambassadors Visit the official home of Oakwood University athletics at Oakwood University - Official Athletics Website.
