OAKWOOD PLACES THREE PLAYERS ON ALL-HBCUAC VOLLEYBALL TEAM - RONDON, JONES ALSO HONORED

BOSSIER CITY. La. – Oakwood University placed three players on the All-HBCU Athletic Conference volleyball team, while two others earned superlative awards, league officials announced earlier this week.   Kamaria Murray was named first-team All-HBCUAC, while Cameryn Bucknor and Alexis Wiley were named to the second team.   Murray, a sophomore outside hitter from Murfreesboro, Tenn., was among the league leaders in kills. She was named HBCUAC Attacker of the Week twice during the season.   Bucknor, a senior setter from Huntsville, Ala., was among the league leaders in assists and digs, while Wiley, a junior from Sachse, Texas, was also among the league leaders in assists and digs.   Miriangie Rondon and Anna Jones earned two of the highest awards that the league hands out.   Rondon, a senior defensive specialist from the Dominican Republic, received the Elite 9 Academic Award for having the highest GPA of all the volleyball student athletes in the conference.   Rondon is majoring in Management Information Systems and has a 3.96 GPA.   Jones, a senior outside hitter from Attalla, Ala., was named a member of the Champion of Character Team, which recognizes student athletes who show tremendous sportsmanship on and off the field.   Follow the Ambassadors Visit the official home of Oakwood University athletics at Oakwood University - Official Athletics Website.
