HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Oakwood University men's soccer claimed the No. 2 seed in the 2025 HBCUAC Soccer Championship and will take on No. 3 seed Paul Quinn College tonight at 9 at Lee Hedges Stadium in Shreveport, La. The Ambassadors (2-6, 2-2) beat Talladega College and Tougaloo College to earn the No. 2 seed. Oakwood is led by David Thompson, who has a team-high three goals, while Isaac Abrahams and Alessandro Davis have two goals each. Goalkeeper Neriah Bean has 49 saves. The Tigers (2-5-6, 0-3-1) tied the HBCUAC West Division champion Wiley University. Paul Quinn is led by Amando Garcia, who is tied for the conference lead with six goals. Frankie Oviedo follows with five. Andrew Martinez leads the HBCUAC with 48 saves. The tournament gets underway Tuesday with West No. 2 seed Huston-Tillotson taking on East No. 3 seed Tougaloo College at 3 p.m. Wednesday's game will pit East No. 1 seed Talladega College vs. the Huston-Tillotson/Tougaloo winner at noon, followed by West No. 1 seed Wiley University vs. the Oakwood/Paul Quinn winner at 6 p.m. The championship game is slated for Friday at 6 p.m. Follow the Ambassadors Visit the official home of Oakwood University athletics at Oakwood University - Official Athletics Website.
