OAKWOOD LIMITED TO EIGHT HITS AS TALLADEGA COLLEGE SWEEPS AMBASSADORS

TALLADEGA, Ala. – Talladega College limited Oakwood University to just eight hits Thursday and Friday as the Tornadoes swept the Ambassadors 18-0 and 17-1 Thursday and 10-0 on Friday in a three-game HBCU Athletic Conference series. Oakwood fell to 0-22 overall and 0-12 in league play. Talladega College improved to 23-8 and 17-1. Game 1 Joshua Mack and Tedrus Hamilton had one hit each to account for Oakwood's two hits in the opener. Argenis Rosario (0-1) took the loss, allowing 18 runs, 17 earned, on six hits in three innings. He walked four. Game 2 Akari David, Derrick Sanders and Kyler Bradley had one hit each to pace the Ambassadors. Oakwood fell behind 12-0 through four innings, but Akari David singled to open the fifth inning and came around to score on a single by Bradley to help the Ambassadors avoid the shut out. Jorge Hernandez (0-1) took the loss, allowing 12 runs, 10 earned, on six hits in 3.2 innings. He walked six and struck out one. Game 3 Jordan Jennings went 2-for-4 and Tedrus Hamiton went 1-for-3 in Friday's series finale. Dakota Cobb (0-3) took the loss, allowing six runs, five earned, on nine hits in four innings.  Oakwood is back in action Tuesday at home against Tennessee Southern.
