HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Oakwood University baseball ended yet another disappointing season Friday with a 12-8 loss to Tougaloo College in an HBCUAC game at John Hunt Park. The Ambassadors fell 21-6 in Thursday's series opener at Sand Mountain Park in Albertville. Friday's second game was cancelled due to rain. Oakwood ended the season 2-40 overall and 2-27 in league play. Game 1 The Ambassadors erupted for five runs in the bottom of the second inning to take an early 5-0, but couldn't hold on to it as the Bulldogs outscored them 21-1 over the next seven innings. Treyvon Jones finished 2-for-3 with an RBI and scored two runs. Kyler Bradley had a hit and three RBI, while Jeremy Matos, Jorge Hernandez, Tedrus Hamilton, Derrick Sanders and Ahmad Woods had one hit apiece. Eli Kennedy (0-8) took the loss, allowing seven runs, six earned on six hits in 4.2 innings. He walked two and struck out one. Game 2 On Friday, Hernandez' three-run homer in the fifth, part of a five-run outburst, gave Oakwood a 7-5 lead, but the Ambassadors couldn't hold on to it. The Bulldogs scored two runs in the top of the sixth inning and five more in the seventh to take the win. Jordan Jennings had two for Oakwood, going 2-for-4 with two runs and an RBI. Hernandez was 1-for-4, including his third home run of the season, three RBI and scored a run. Jeremy Matos had a hit, two RBI and scored a run, while Kennedy and Ahmad Woods had a hit each and scored a run each. Akari David (0-3) took the loss, allowing four runs, all earned, on no hits in 0.2 innings. He walked two.
