Recap courtesy of Molloy University Sports Information PLEASANTVILLE, NY – The women's lacrosse team fell to Dominican University this afternoon, 19-7, from Northwell Stadium on the campus of Pace University. The Lions' season ends with a record of 10-9. Dominican will advance to take on Pace on Saturday (May 10) with a 19-1 record. BOX SCORE How it Happened The Chargers opened the contest on a 9-1 run before senior Alexa Amorison broke the run to put Molloy on the board. The first quarter ended with Dominican leading 10-1 before adding four more goals in the second quarter. Two more goals opened the second half to make it 16-2. Rejuvenated after an hour-long lightning delay, senior Sofia Quitoni added a goal for the Lions. Trailing 17-2, the Lions offense put up three-straight goals to start the fourth quarter. Freshman Ava Benasutti got the run started with an unassisted goal before senior Brenna Signorelli netted two within two minutes to make it 17-5. Dominican interrupted the run with a goal before senior Megan Rugolo scored on man-up and Quitoni added her second of the contest. Dominican rounded out the scoring with a goal in the final 65 seconds of play. Top Performances Signorelli, Quitoni, and Amorison each had three points. Rugolo and sophomore Nicole Schaumloffel each led with three ground balls with Rugolo adding seven draw controls and Schaumloffel making five saves.
