HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Kamaria Murray, a 5-foot-7 middle hitter from Murfreesboro, Tenn., has been named Oakwood University's Player of the Week for the week of August 25-31. Murray came up big in helping the Ambassadors beat Talladega College and Baptist University of Florida in the Talladega College Labor Day Tournament. A sophomore, Murray had 11 kills, five digs and two assists in a 3-2 win against the Tornadoes, the defending HBCU Athletic Conference regular season champions. Then, Murray had 12 kills, five digs and one assist in a 3-1 win over the Eagles. All total, Murray, who earned second-team All-HBCUAC honors last season, finished with 23 kills, 10 digs and three assists in the tournament. Murray and her teammates will be back in action Wednesday when Oakwood hosts LeMoyne-Owen College inside Ashby Auditorium.
