HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Jeremy Matos had three hits and Jordan Jennings had two, but Oakwood University couldn't overcome an early deficit and fell to Alabama A&M 22-5 Tuesday afternoon at Bulldog Field. The Bulldogs led 11-0 after two innings and the Ambassadors never threatened the rest of the way. Oakwood fell to 0-19 on the season. AAMU improved to 15-15. Matos was 3-for-4 with an RBI and scored a run, while Jennings was 2-for-3 with an RBI. Jorge Hernandez was 1-for-3 with two RBI, while Kyler Bradley was 1-for-2 and scored a run. Anthony Brent Jr and Bradley walked to open the third inning. Brent Jr stole third and came around to score on a wild pitch to put Oakwood on the board. Jennings singled to score Bradley to pull the Ambassadors within 11-2. Jennings singled with one out in the fifth inning and later scored on a single by Matos to make it 15-3. Hernandez's two-run single scored Matos and Joshua Mack to make it 15-5. Eli Kennedy (0-5) took the loss, allowing seven runs, six earned, on two hits in 0.2 innings. He walked four. Oakwood is back in action Thursday at Talladega College.
