MACK, BRADLEY SHINE FOR OAKWOOD AGAINST RUST COLLEGE

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Joshua Mack and Kyler Bradley batted over .400 for the week, but it wasn't enough as Oakwood University was swept 3-0 by Rust College in an HBCU Athletic Conference series at John Hunt Park. Mack batted .454, going 5-for-11 with a double, five RBI and scored a run, while Bradley hit .428, going 3-for-7 with a triple, four RBI and scored two runs. Unfortunately, the Bearcats downed the Ambassadors 20-3 and 15-3 on Thursday and came away with a 22-15 victory on Friday. Oakwood fell to 0-12 overall and 0-6 in league play. Game 1 Tedrus Hamilton went 2-for-3, including a double and one RBI in the opener to lead the Ambassadors. Jordan Jennings, Jeremy Matos, Derrick Sanders and Matthew Guitierrez Dalrymple also had one hit apiece. Oakwood trailed 4-1 through two innings and was outscored 12-0 over the next four innings as Rust College pulled away. Eli Kennedy (0-4) took the loss, allowing 10 runs, four earned, on nine hits in four innings. He walked four and struck out one. Game 2 Mack, Jorge Hernandez and Akari David had one hit apiece to lead the Ambassadors. Mack's two-run single in the second inning gave Oakwood a brief 3-2 lead, but Rust College scored the final 13 runs to win convincingly. Dakota Cobb (0-3) took the loss, allowing eight runs, six earned, on 11 hits in six innings. He walked two and struck out two. Game 3 Mack went 4-for-7 with three RBI and scored a run, while Bradley finished 3-for-5 with four RBI and scored a run to lead the Ambassadors. Jordan Jennings also went 3-for-5 with an RBI and scored two runs. Oakwood trailed 12-0 in the middle of the second inning, but battled back to make a game of it before falling 22-15. The Ambassadors finished with 15 runs on 15 hits, but hurt themselves with eight errors. Matos, Hamilton, Cobb, Hernandez and Jayden Rolling had one hit apiece for Oakwood. Akari David (0-2) took the loss, allowing 11 runs, seven earned, on six hits in 1.1 innings. He walked five and struck out one. Oakwood is back in action Tuesday at Tennessee Southern.
