Making her second consecutive season appearing in the event for Alcorn, junior Stellah Kiptui cut 41 seconds off her career mark to finish 113th at the NCAA South Regional Cross Country Championships on Friday morning. Running for the second time this season at Huntsville's John Hunt Park, Kiptui registered a 6k time of 22:02.00 to notch a new career best for the distance. Kiptui, a 5-foot-2 junior from Kabarnet, Kenya, recorded a 113th-place finish to improve nine spots and 41 seconds over her 2021 Regional debut. This season, she proved to be the top Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) performer in the final field of 228 runners.
