Fuquay-Varina, NC - South Carolina State forward Drayton Jones has been named HBCU National Player of the Week by BOXTOROW. Jones, a sophomore from Houston, Texas, averaged 19.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, shot 47 percent from the field and 81 percent from three free throw line (22-of-27) in helping lead the Bulldogs to a 2-0 record last week. In the Bulldogs' win over MEAC first place Norfolk State, he scored 20 points, grabbed eight rebounds, had two blocked shots and two steals, and was 14-of-17 (.824) from the free throw line.
