JACKSON'S BIG NIGHT HELPS OAKWOOD OUTLAST FISK IN HBCUAC CONTEST

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Chase Jackson had arguably his best game in an Oakwood University uniform Saturday night to propel the Ambassadors to a key win over Fisk University inside Ashby Auditorium.   Jackson finished with 17 points, making all 10 of his shots, as Oakwood outlasted Fisk 74-69 in a key HBCU Athletic Conference game.   A former Sparkman High School standout, Jackson was 7-of-7 from the field, including 1-of-1 from 3-point range, and 2-of-2 from the free throw line. He also had two rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocks.   Jordan Bell backed Jackson with 17 points and eight rebounds, while Damon Fann scored 15 points, including four 3-pointers, and had seven rebounds.   The Ambassadors shot 45.2 percent (28-of-62) from the field, including 40 percent (8-of-20) from 3-point range, and 66.7 percent (10-fo-15) from the free throw line.   Kailon Benton-Hamilton led four Bulldogs in double figures with 17 points. Mitch Seay finished with 14 points, while Lucious Jackson and Simeon Williams II had 13 and 12 points, respectively.   Fisk shot 40.6 percent (26-of-64) from the field, including 30 percent (9-of-30) from beyond the arc, and 38.1 percent (8-of-21) from the charity stripe.   Oakwood is off until Jan. 3 when it hosts Tougaloo.   Follow the Ambassadors Visit the official home of Oakwood University athletics at Oakwood University - Official Athletics Website.
