Dover, Del. (Apr. 25, 2023) --- Delaware State is seeded third in the seven-team Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Championship Tournament, which gets underway Thursday in Cary, N.C. The Hornets will play their tournament opener against No. 6 seed Norfolk State on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. Delaware State defeated the Spartans 6-1 during the MEAC regular season round-up on Mar. 17, also in Cary, N.C. The winner of the Delaware State / Norfolk State match will face either No. 2 North Carolina Central or No. 7 Coppin State on Fri. (Apr. 28) at 9:00 a.m. The Hornets defeated NC Central 4-3 and blanked Coppin State 7-0 during regular season play this year. Two-time defending champ South Carolina State has a first-round bye as the No. 1 tournament seed. The MEAC women's tennis championship match is set for Sat. (Apr. 29) at 9:00 a.m.
