Cary, N.C. (Mar. 18, 2023)---Three-time defending conference champ South Carolina State proved too much for Delaware State on the final day of the MEAC Women's Tennis Round-up. The Bulldogs topped the Hornets 7-0 today, handing Delaware State its only loss in three round-up matches this weekend. SC State won four of six singles matches in straight sets and posted 6-2 victories in each of the three doubles contests. Delaware State's Klaudija Lisovska and Daria Julia took their opponents to the wire before falling in the third set of their singles matches. In the No. 3 contest, Julia took the second set 6-3 to even the match, and put up a tough fight dropping the third set 10-8. Lisovska won the first set 6-3 in the No. 4 match, but dropped the second set 6-2. She also came up short in the third set 10-8 in the highly competitive match. The Hornets are home for the first time this spring in their next match against Chestnut Hill College on Tuesday (Mar. 21) at the Courtside Pickleball & Tennis Club on Kenton Road in Dover starting at 1:00 p.m.
