HBCUAC HONORS OAKWOOD'S SMITH WITH RISING STAR AWARD

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Renee Smith, the Associate Athletics Director of Compliance at Oakwood University, was recently honored with the Rising Star Award from the Senior Women Leaders Committee in the HBCU Athletic Conference. Smith received the honor last week during the 2025 HBCUAC Hope Credit Union Basketball Championship at Stillman College. The Rising Star award recognizes the woman who shows exceptional potential in her athletic career and leadership within the conference. It also signifies growth and a bright future in athletic endeavors. Smith, an Oakwood University graduate, also serves as an Adjunct Professor in the Health and Exercise Science Department.
