The Elizabeth City State University Vikings were down by 12 points in the first half of the game, but they came back and proved that they could go all the way to the top with hard-work and teamwork. That teamwork did not quite fuse as anticipated as the Vikings dropped their second conference road game 58-67 to the Saint Augustine Falcons. In the second half, Elizabeth City State had a new energy. They were more talkative on the court, they communicated better with one another, and they played covered down on defense. However, the readjustment to stop the Falcons from their 50 points off the bench wasn't much of an improvement in skill level early on; as the game progressed, they started taking better shots, being more precise on passes, and better defending. With three minutes left on the clock in overtime, they were only down by 5 points (54-59). Jaquantae Harris led the teams' offensive stretch with 15 points and five rebounds. The Vikings drop to 5-7 on the season and suffer their second conference loss (0-2 CIAA). The Vikings will seek to pick things back on Monday, December 19 as they face-off against Fayetteville State. Tip-off is slated for 7:30 p.m.
