Rookie of the Week Freshman | Austria In her first collegiate action, Nele was able to pull off an exciting victory at #2 singles, battling back after dropping the first set against Mar Caneves Bufi (STAC), and coming out victorious in a tiebreaker: 4-6, 6-2, 11-9 (tb). Herbst also made her debut on #1 doubles, forcing another tiebreaker. This is D'Youville's first victory over STAC in program history. ECC Weekly Honor Roll Junior | Casablanca, Morocco Lina Benjelloun was a key contributor in UDC’s 6–1 season-opening win over Elizabeth City State. She paired with Nadja Zmukic for a commanding 6–1 victory at No. 2 doubles, then carried that momentum into singles, where she delivered a dominant 6–0, 6–0 sweep at No. 3 singles to secure two points for the Firebirds. Junior | Kyiv, Ukraine Kryuchkova went 4-0 with an undefeated week at No. 1 doubles and No. 1 singles in a 1-1 week for the Spartans. In the 5-2 win over Daemen, Kryuchkova teamed up with Sun Zhuoxuan to defeat their opponents, 6-0, before going on to defeat Marley Conover 6-0, 6-1. In the 6-1 loss to D'Youville, the STAC junior and Zhuoxuan downed their opponents, 7-6 (7-5), before going on to defeat Munisa Ashurbekova, 6-1, 6-4. Polina Zelentsova, District of Columbia Junior | Chalky, Ukraine Zelentsova opened the 2025–26 season in dominant fashion, going a perfect 2–0 at the top of UDC’s lineup in a 6–1 win over Elizabeth City State. She teamed with Célia Bastin for a decisive 6–1 victory at No. 1 doubles, then delivered a flawless 6–0, 6–0 sweep at No. 1 singles to anchor the Firebirds’ season-opening win.
