ECC Women's Lacrosse Report - Week Two

Offensive Player of the Week Graduate Student | M | Wantagh, NY Galison dropped 10 points on five goals and five assists in St. Thomas Aquinas’ one-goal loss to American International on Saturday. The STAC graduate student midfielder also led the Spartans in shots (15), shots on goal (11), draw controls (13), ground balls (6), and caused turnovers (3).  Defensive Player of the Week Senior | D | Farmingdale, NY Shimborske had a game-high five caused turnovers, eight draw controls, and four ground balls to help lead a Mercy defense that allowed just three goals in a 15-3 win over Georgian Court on Wednesday.  Rookie of the Week Freshman | M | Farmingdale, NY Kelly scored her first three collegiate goals and added a ground ball and two caused turnovers in Mercy's 15-3 win over Georgian Court on Wednesday.  ECC Weekly Honor Roll Senior | M | Hewlett, NY Borsellino led Molloy with four caused turnovers in a narrow two-goal loss to Jefferson, adding three draw controls and two ground balls. Senior | A | Greenlawn, NY Hansen posted a game-high seven points on five goals and two assists in Mercy's 15-3 win over Georgian Court on Wednesday.  Senior | M | Wantagh, NY Quitoni led the Lions with four points on three goals and an assist to go with two ground balls in a narrow two-goal loss to Jefferson.  Junior | M | Marcellus, NY Tierney led the Roberts Wesleyan offense for the week as the Redhawks opened the season with a pair of road losses to nationally-ranked opponents. For the week, she scored four goals and added six ground balls and five caused turnovers. Tierney netted two goals in each game against No. 2 Pace and No. 5 West Chester; her second goal against West Chester was her 50th career goal.
