ECC Cross Country Report - Week Four

Men's Runner of the Week Senior | Lockport, NY Senior Jackson Doran ran his first 8K race in nearly two years and finished sixth overall (out of 249 runners) with a time of 25:12.7. He led Roberts Wesleyan to a fourth-place team finish at the Harry F. Anderson meet at Roberts. His time this season was nearly two minutes faster than his finish in the same race in 2022. Men's Rookie of the Week Freshman | Monroe, NY Rodriguez Perez was the top Spartan finisher, placing second in the men's 8k race with a time of 29:45.9 at the Caldwell University Cougar Chase Invite on Friday, while also helping his team to a first-place overall finish. Women's Runner of the Week Senior | Cornish, NH Senior Rachel Horner-Richardson was the overall winner of the Harry F. Anderson 5K race over the weekend at Roberts, as she posted her second-fastest career 5K with a time of 18:11.0. She placed first in a crowded field of 183 runners. Women's Rookie of the Week Freshman | Snyder, NY Freshman Emma Lipa was the final scoring runner for Roberts Wesleyan at the annual Harry F. Anderson home meet over the weekend, as she shaved a minute off her 5K PR with a time of 19:32.0 to place 28th overall (out of 183 runners). ECC Weekly Honor Roll CJ Johnson, Daemen Junior | Baltimore, Md Johnson paced the Wildcats for the second consecutive race, placing 12th out of 249 with an 8K PR time of 25:21.1 at the Harry F. Anderson Invitational on Saturday, shaving over 20 seconds off his previous best time (25:42.6) set at the 2023 Highlander Invitational. Johnson's time ranks second all-time in the Daemen 8K record books and is just five seconds shy of the Daemen 8K program record time (25:16.0). Pedro Mulero Martinez, St. Thomas Aquinas Senior | Lorca, Spain Mulero Martinez placed fourth in the men's 8k race with a time of 30:04.5 at the Caldwell University Cougar Chase Invite on Friday, while also helping his team to a first-place overall finish. Women Kristen Kennedy, St. Thomas Aquinas Junior | Fairlawn, NJ Kennedy placed sixth in the women's 5k race with a time of 24:52.1 at the Caldwell University Cougar Chase Invite on Friday, while also helping her team to a first-place overall finish. Paige Reeser, Roberts Wesleyan Sophomore | Denver, Pa Sophomore Paige Reeser clocked a 5K PR time of 18:18.3 and finished third overall (out of 183 runners) at the Harry F. Anderson race Saturday at Roberts. Her time helped the Redhawks to a second-place team finish with four runners in the top 20 overall. The PR time was nearly 30 seconds faster than her previous best from the 2024 ECC Championships. Michel Sophonie, St. Thomas Aquinas Sophomore | Haverstraw, NY Michel was the top Spartan finisher, placing third in the women's 5k race with a time of 23:30.1 at the Caldwell University Cougar Chase Invite on Friday, while also helping her team to a first-place overall finish. Elaina Williams, D’Youville Freshman | Cato, NY Williams continues to have a strong start to her freshman campaign, placing 30th with a time of 19:34.7 at the Harry F. Anderson Invitational hosted by Roberts Wesleyan University. Williams' time re-wrote the Saints cross country record book, setting a new mark for a freshman runner.
