Dover, Del. (Jan. 31, 2023) --- Jonathan Drew of Middletown Del. (Middletown HS), who recently signed to attend Delaware State and compete for the Hornets' cross country and track and field teams, has been nationally recognized as the state's 2022-23 Gatorade Boys Cross County Runner of the Year. Drew, who plans to join the Hornets later this year, was also selected as the State of Delaware Runner of the Year. Among his cross country accolades this past season at Middletown H.S. were first place finishes in the Delaware individual, New Castle County and Blue Hen Conference championships. He also helped lead the Cavaliers to a second place finish in the state championship meet. "Jonathan is a tremendous talent and outstanding all-around young man whose determination has paid off in tremendous success throughout his scholastic career," said Delaware State Cross Country/Track & Field Head Coach Steve Kimes. "We are extremely fortunate that such a great local talent chose to attend Delaware State and become a Hornet.
