Dover, Del. (Mar. 1, 2023) --- In light of the recent incident involving the Delaware State women's bowling team, the University has announced the conclusion of its 2022-23 season. A charter bus transporting the team was involved in a single-vehicle accident on U.S. 85 in Dinwiddie County, Va., during its travel to a tournament in North Carolina on Feb. 23. Two of the eight student-athletes and a University staff member aboard the bus are still being treated in Virginia hospitals, while the other team members and the coach were treated and have since been released. "Delaware State University is grateful for the outpouring of prayers and well wishes for our student-athletes and staff as we continue to heal during this time," said Director of Athletics Alecia Shields-Gadson.
