MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan University women's soccer team wrapped up the regular season on Saturday evening with a competitive match against Francis Marion University. The Hawks defense held strong through the first half, keeping the Patriots off the board to send the game into halftime scoreless. Francis Marion found the net in the second half to take the 1-0 decision and secure the top seed in the conference standings. With the result, Chowan closes the regular season at 7-8-1 overall and 7-5-1 in Conference Carolinas play, earning the #6 seed in the upcoming Conference Carolinas Championship and finishing third in the east division.
