MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan University volleyball team opened strong but was edged in four sets by Conference Carolinas opponent Shorter University on Saturday afternoon. Chowan took the first set 26-24, before Shorter rallied to claim the next three and secure the win. With the setback, Chowan moves to 3-13 overall and 2-6 in Conference play, while Shorter improves to 8-5 overall and 7-1 in league action.
