MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan University women's basketball team battled Virginia State University down to the final second in a non-conference matchup on Saturday afternoon. The game remained neck-and-neck throughout, with Chowan winning the first quarter and gaining their largest lead—a seven-point advantage—midway through the second quarter. Three Hawks reached double digits in the competitive matchup with Yasmine Brown having a career high day to lead Chowan. With the results of the matchup, Chowan moves to 3-3 overall and 1-2 in Conference Carolinas play.
