Dover, Del. (Mar. 15, 2023) –The Delaware State women's lacrosse team was ahead for much of the first 50 minutes before visiting Central Connecticut fought back for a 10-8 victory over the Hornets at Drass Field today. The loss also overshadowed a stellar performance by Delaware State's Ebony Reddick, who tied for game high honors with four goals today. Central Connecticut led 2-1 before the Hornets scored the next four, three by Reddick to lead 5-2 after the first 15 minutes. After the Blue Devils pulled to within 5-4, Reddick scored her fourth goals of the game to give the Hornets a two-goal lead at the 3:55 mark of the second period. Delaware State led 6-5 at the half. Central Connecticut regained the lead 8-7 on a score by Shaelyn Yermal with 9:04 left to play. Olivia Gianakos scored four goals to lead the Blue Devils' scoresheet. The Hornets return to action on Saturday (Mar. 18) at home against Jacksonville in their ASUN Conference opener. Start time is set for 12:00 p.m. at Drass Field.
