Big South Announces Baseball Players of the Week - May 5

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com) – USC Upstate designated hitter Johnny Sweeney (Millstadt, Ill.) has been named the Big South Baseball Player of the Week, while teammate Chris Torres (West Springfield, Mass.) is the Starting Pitcher of the Week for games played April 28-May 4, it was announced today. In addition, High Point’s Howell Polk (Birmingham, Ala.) was selected as the Relief Pitcher of the Week, while Winthrop’s Mason Tompkins (Travelers Rest, S.C.) is the Freshman of the Week honoree.
