Benedict’s Berry and Denelus Triumph as HBCU Football Coach and Player of the Year, Earning Prestigious Honors

ATLANTA, GA (August 30, 2023) - This month, Rice FAME Group announced a lineup of esteemed 2022-2023 HBCU Makeda Excellence Awards honorees featuring athletes, coaches, bands, and band directors of Historically Black Colleges and Universities programs. Each honoree was selected by a majority of voting peer coaches and band directors from the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), National Christian Collegiate Athletic Association (NCCAA), and United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) programs.
