HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Jordan Bell, Anna Jones and Harmonie Banks have been named Oakwood University's Players of the Week for the week ending October 26. Bell, a 6-foot-6 senior power forward, averaged 20.5 points and 6.5 rebounds in a pair of losses to Cumberland University and Freed-Hardeman. A Mobile native, Bell shot 53.6 percent (15-of-28) from the field, including 60 percent (3-of-5) from 3-point range. He also had five steals, three blocks and three assists. Jones, a 5-10 senior outside hitter from Attalla, had 14 kills, seven digs and five blocks in helping Oakwood go 2-1 last week. She finished with 17.5 points during the week. Banks, a 6-0 sophomore middle blocker from Denver, Colo., had 14 kills, three digs and seven blocks to help the Ambassadors go 2-1 last week. She finished with 18 points during the week. Bell will try to help Oakwood pick up its first win of the season Wednesday at Dalton State Community College. Jones and Banks will be back in action Thursday when Oakwood hosts Rust College in its final HBCU Athletic Conference regular season game at Ashby Auditorium.
