Recap courtesy of Queens College Sports Information ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, FL – Back in the big dance for the second straight year and the eighth time in program history, the Queens College men's tennis team 2025 concluded in the NCAA Men's Tennis Tournament First Round match Tuesday morning. BOX SCORE Matching up against the #4 seed and #5 team in the country in Lubbock Christian University Chaparral, the Knights would go down fighting. In a match that lasted close to three hours in the high heat of the Flordia weather, Queens dropped a closely contested doubles point before the Chaps were able to take three singles matches to defeat Queens to the final score of 4-0. Head coach Somadi Druker and the Knights conclude the 2025 season with an overall record of 18-5. DOUBLES PLAY It would be a closely contested double match with all three matches going the distance. The #1 pair of junior Lucas Foix Sotos (Javea, Spain) and rookie Samuel Linck (Haarlem, Netherlands) matched up against nationally-ranked #35 pair of Kelly Giese and Jordan Georgiev but it would be the Chaparrals that would take a 6-4 victory over the Knights. Down to the final two doubles matches, both Knights pair in the #2 pair of rookie Adam Laur (Boulogne Billancourt, France) and junior Alexis Martin-Gibiard (Saint-Remy-de-Provence, France) and #3 pair of sophomore Tim Andersson (Linkoping, Sweden) and junior Viktor Ek Johansson (Stockholm, Sweden) would take their match into the tiebreaker. However, it would be a tough loss at the #3 court as Andersson and Ek Johansson fell to the score of 6-7 (3-7) against Pablo Segura and Andres De Los Rios as the Chaps took a 1-0 lead into singles play. SINGLES PLAY It would be a battle in singles play but it would be a tough hill to climb for the Knights as the trio of Foix Sotos, Andersson, and Ek Johansson matched up against three ranked players in the country. Laur was the lone Knight to win a set as the rookie earned a first set victory of 6-4 over Blas Ruiz Romero at the #6 court. Johansson fell in two sets against #62 Mattia Ghedin to the score of 1-6, 3-6 at #3 singles. Linck fell at #5 court to the score of 4-6, 2-6 against Marco Seccia as the Chaps took a 3-0 lead.
